Interns for the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth will progressively learn and demonstrate competencies to support the leadership staff over the course of their internship. This position is concerned with delivering and coordinating services in the community and helping facilitate and promote a positive membership experience, effective programming, and projects related to the intern's field of study. Under the supervision of the Program Director, Interns will be responsible for learning key roles & responsibilities specific to membership and programming. Interns may also help oversee community service events, organize group activities, and help assist as needed. The intern must possess a variety of Skills: • Lived or Professional experience working with the target population • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated follow through on tasks; multi-project/multi-task orientation • Ability to work with people from a variety of different ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, religious, sexual, and generational backgrounds • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills to help oversee and support program participants • Professional demeanor, pleasant personality, and a sense of humor
