Coaches play a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and positive learning environment where players can build their sport specific skills, teamwork, and confidence. Sports: Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball Responsibilities: Lead practices and games for your assigned team. Teach fundamental sport skills and encourage player development. Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude. Communicate with parents and program staff as needed. Ensure player safety and adherence to league rules. Assistant Coaches will support the Head Coach with drills, practices, and game-day management. Time Commitment: Roughly 3 hours per week Winter Sports: Basketball - 1/1/26 - 3/14/26 Spring Sports: Soccer & Volleyball - 3/23/26 - 5/16/26 Practices: Begin Week of March 23: 1 evening per week and 1 game on Fridays or Saturdays. Must be 21 years of age. 2. Licensed Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Doctor (MD), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the State of Texas. 3. Physical and mental capacity to respond effectively in emergencies. 4. Ability to lift 50 lbs. 5. Ability to work long shifts (12+ hours) including walking, lifting, and standing. 6. Strong communication skills with youth, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds. 7. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before camp). 8. Willingness to live on site during assigned camp periods. o Contracts available: 12 week, 5 week, 2 week, and per diem roles. Key Responsibilities 1. Camper & Staff Health and Safety • Oversee daily Health Lodge routines: o Sick call o Medication administration o In patient care o Treatments and follow up • Maintain emergency equipment and readiness. • Determine when higher level care is required (urgent care, ER, 911). • Maintain awareness of campers with chronic health needs or self carry medications. • Respond to emergencies per YMCA and ACA standards. 2. Health Records & Documentation • Review all health forms, ensure compliance, and follow up with parents as needed. • Maintain complete records using CampMinder or YMCA-approved systems. • Document all treatments, parent/doctor communication, and MARs daily. • Complete incident reports for all injuries, regardless of severity. 3. Communication & Professional Leadership • Serve as the health liaison with parents and physicians. • Maintain professional communication with the Camp Director and administrative team. • Participate in staff training, orientation, and ongoing safety initiatives. • Model YMCA core values and support a positive, inclusive environment. 4. This role is vital during Outdoor Education (OE) sessions, typically weekdays from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM. Volunteers are needed regularly throughout the school year. Assist with Meal Service Support our kitchen team by helping serve meals during OE lunch shifts (11:30 AM–12:30 PM) and other retreat programs. This is a great way to contribute during short, high-impact windows. Trail Clearing Join us in maintaining safe and scenic trails by helping remove debris, trim overgrowth, and improve pathways. Ideal for small groups, this project is flexible and best suited for weekends or OE off-days. Handy-Man / Honey-Do Tasks Put your fix-it skills to work! Volunteers assist with light maintenance tasks such as repairs, installations, and general upkeep. These can be scheduled flexibly or as part of monthly workdays. Manual Labor Projects Help keep Camp Carter beautiful and functional through hands-on tasks like painting, power washing, leaf blowing, and more. These projects are great for groups and typically scheduled on weekends or OE off-days. Administrative Support Assist our team with essential office tasks such as scanning, filing, shredding, and donor thank-you calls. This role can be done on-site or remotely and is perfect for volunteers who prefer indoor or flexible work. STEM or Nature Activity Volunteers Lead engaging, short-form educational activities for youth during OE sessions. Volunteers facilitate hands-on learning in STEM or nature topics, weekdays from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM.

Volunteers will help facilitate games, arts and crafts, music, sports, and group discussions while ensuring all teens feel welcome and supported.
