1:1 Reach & Rise Mentoring Program

Reach &Rise® is a national YMCA program designed to build a better future for youth by helping them reach their full potential through the support of caring adults. Established to provide young people in our community with positive adult relationships, adult mentors are matched with youth in our community who they meet with once a week. Mentors serve as role models, friends, and confidants. Mentors are not meant to take the role of a parent or babysitter but to introduce their mentees to new activities to help them grow and learn about themselves and their community. Group Mentor Requirements: - 21+years old - Pass background check - Meet up to 1-3 hours each week, for 12-month commitment Complete 15 hour mentor training over topics: - Basics of youth mentoring - Theoretical approaches to mentoring - Stages of Youth Development - Mental Health Youth May Experience - Safety Issues - Policies& Procedures

A Community Advisory Board member is a key volunteer who serves a 3-year term and provides the following functions: • Serves as a positive influence and advocate for the YMCA • Supports the mission and vision of the YMCA • Guide operations, monitor financial performance, and lead fundraising activities • Promote center membership and monitor program participation and quality to achieve Association goals • Provide input regarding center needs and make recommendations to the Association board that relate to their respective center • Advise the center staff in matters pertaining to the management of the center operation and monitor the implementation of board policies at the center • Attendance at most YMCA board functions and other YMCA-related activities is expected

Do you like working with horses? The Camp Carter Equestrian Center could use your help! We always need help with maintaining our Equestrian Center facilities. Task could include: • mucking stalls and the arenas, • assisting with feeding the horses, • ensuring horses have sufficient clean water and hay available, • and other tasks that help our Equestrian Center run well and our horses remain healthy. Some familiarity with horses is preferred.

Youth and Government, a national YMCA program, empowers students from every corner of the U.S. by giving them the opportunity to learn about—and experience—government policies and methodologies firsthand. The program gives middle and high school students Democracy through Legislation, State Affairs, Judical, and the Media branches of government. Advisors: oversee the program at each school. They are responsible for getting students ready for the students ready for District and State conferences. District Conference volunteers: food set up, Judicial and Legislative evaluators, check-in, registration, Y-Swag table, Media judges, 3-5 runners. State volunteers
