Make a Lasting Impact Through the Game of Soccer Volunteer soccer coaches are the heart of our youth sports program. No prior coaching experience is required, just a positive attitude, reliability, and a desire to help kids learn and grow. As a YMCA Youth Soccer Coach, you'll create a fun, encouraging environment where players develop soccer fundamentals while building confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character. Responsibilities Lead one practice each week. Coach your team during weekly Saturday games. Teach age-appropriate soccer skills and game fundamentals. Encourage teamwork, respect, and positive sportsmanship. Communicate practice and game information with parents. Ensure every player has opportunities to participate and improve. Follow YMCA policies and help provide a safe environment for all participants. Time Commitment One evening practice per week (approximately 45-60 minutes). Saturday games throughout the season. Coaches meeting (if applicable). Season length: Approximately 8 weeks. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. Enjoy working with children. Positive attitude and willingness to encourage every player. Pass required background screening. Complete YMCA volunteer and safety training.
