Joshua Community YMCA

A Community Advisory Board member is a key volunteer who serves a 3-year term and provides the following functions: • Serves as a positive influence and advocate for the YMCA • Supports the mission and vision of the YMCA • Guide operations, monitor financial performance, and lead fundraising activities • Promote center membership and monitor program participation and quality to achieve Association goals • Provide input regarding center needs and make recommendations to the Association board that relate to their respective center • Advise the center staff in matters pertaining to the management of the center operation and monitor the implementation of board policies at the center • Attendance at most YMCA board functions and other YMCA-related activities is expected

Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including games, arts and crafts, storytelling, and educational programs. Encourage positive social interactions among children. Adapt activities to meet the needs and interests of individual children and the group. Greet parents and children warmly upon arrival and departure. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s experience and any issues or concerns. Provide feedback to the Youth Programs Coordinator/Director on program success and areas for improvement. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized playhouse area. Sanitize toys, equipment, and surfaces regularly to prevent the spread of germs. Ensure that supplies are stocked and report any needs to the Youth Programs Coordinator/Director.

Reach &Rise® is a national YMCA program designed to build a better future for youth by helping them reach their full potential through the support of caring adults. Established to provide young people in our community with positive adult relationships, adult mentors are matched with youth in our community who they meet with once a week. Mentors serve as role models, friends, and confidants. Mentors are not meant to take the role of a parent or babysitter but to introduce their mentees to new activities to help them grow and learn about themselves and their community. Northpark YMCA

Description: We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer Coaches and Assistant Coaches to help lead our Winter Basketball 2026 season. Coaches play a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and positive learning environment where players can build their basketball skills, teamwork, and confidence. Responsibilities: Lead practices and games for your assigned team. Teach fundamental basketball skills and encourage player development. Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude. Communicate with parents and program staff as needed. Ensure player safety and adherence to league rules. Assistant Coaches will support the Head Coach with drills, practices, and game-day management. Time Commitment: Practices: 1 evening per week and 1 game on Saturday. Roughly 3 hours per week Games: Saturdays, beginning in January through March 2026. Season runs approximately 8–10 weeks. Qualifications: No prior coaching experience required—we will provide training and resources. Must enjoy working with children and helping them grow on and off the court. Reliable, positive, and committed to the team’s development.

Association Childcare

The YG Youth and Government District Conference is an all-day event for our YG participants to compete to qualify for the State Conference. We will have Legislative, Judicial, Executive, Media and SAF sections within the conference and every section relies on volunteers to help us execute the program
